As the warm sun of July rises and the vibrant hues of summer surround us, it’s time to mark one of the most cherished traditions in our community—the 4th of July Parade! This annual event is more than just a parade; it’s a celebration of our nation’s independence, a tribute to our community spirit, and a day filled with fun, joy, and patriotism. Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, this year’s parade promises to be a memorable experience for all.

The Theme: “Celebration”

This year, our parade theme is “Celebration,” capturing the joyous spirit of Independence Day. Expect to see creative floats, and spirited performances that embody the festive atmosphere of this special day. Let’s come together to celebrate our freedoms, our community, and the bright future ahead.

Parade Details

Date: July 4th, 2024
Time: 10:00 AM
Route: The parade will start at Legion, left onto Bradley Street, left onto Main Street, left onto Portland Street, left onto Pine Street, left onto Bradley Street and ending back at the Legion.

Make sure to arrive early to secure a good viewing spot! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and plenty of sunscreen.

  1. Grand Marshal: This year, we are honored to have James “Jimmy” Oliver, a recipient of the Spirit Of America award for his outstanding community service. Jimmy has helped numerous people over the years and has dedicated himself to helping others.
  2. Marching Bands: Get ready for the stirring sounds of the Bridgton Community Band. Their patriotic tunes and synchronized performances are always a crowd favorite.
  3. Colorful Floats: From local businesses to community organizations, expect to see a dazzling array of floats.
  4. Local Heroes’ Section. Here, we will honor the outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to our community. From firefighters and police officers to healthcare workers,these heroes exemplify the spirit of service and resilience. Their dedication and hard work have helped shape our community into what it is today, and this section is a small token of our immense gratitude.

Concerts in Bradley Park: Summer Nights of Music Every Tuesday in July!

Summer is here, and that means it’s time to get outside, enjoy the warm weather, and listen to some fantastic live music. What better place to do this than at Bradley Park? Every Tuesday evening in July from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Bradley Park will come alive with the sounds of summer as it hosts a series of free concerts. Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor looking for a fun evening out, these concerts are a perfect way to spend your Tuesday nights.

What to Expect

Each concert in the series will feature a different genre of music, ensuring there’s something for everyone. From jazz to rock, classical to country blues, you’ll get to experience a diverse range of musical styles performed by talented local and regional artists. The concerts are designed to be family-friendly, so bring the kids along for a night of fun and entertainment.

Here’s a sneak peek at what you can look forward to each Tuesday in July:

  • July 2ndDeering Ridge Ramblers – Kick off the series with Don and Wayne who have been entertaining crowds throughout Maine for over 30 years. Their guitar styles and vocals are sure to get you singing along and tapping your feet. Sit back and relax and get ready to enjoy some classic rock and easy listening from the 60’s and up. Don’t forget cake and ice cream compliments of The Rotary of Fryeburg.
  • July 9th: Jeremy Holden Duo – Hometown boys that have been gigging together for over three years. They play a wide variety of songs including classic rock, country blues, and pop.
  • July 16thHobson’s Choice – A blend of music from many genres from the core players Jerry Hobson, Krister Rollins, and Merrill Rollins. Come out and enjoy an electric blend of music styles and a real “Hobson’s Choice” of songs!
  • July 23rdThe Bridgton Community Band -The Bridgton Community Band was founded in 1938 and is celebrating its 86th consecutive year of providing concerts featuring a variety of music for the public.
  • July 30th: Rekk’lis – End the month with a bang with a performance of a musical force that has left an indelible mark on the Valley’s music scene since its inception in 2009. Frozen treats will be provided by Fryeburg Recreation.

Bradley Park, located in the heart of our beautiful town, offers a perfect setting for these concerts. The spacious park has plenty of seating areas, so bring a blanket or lawn chairs to make yourself comfortable.
