Fryeburg Salutes – A Veteran Banner Program
Fryeburg Salutes is a community-led Veteran Banner Program created to recognize and honor the veterans who have served our country and have a connection to Fryeburg.
Beginning in 2027, personalized banners will be displayed throughout Fryeburg from Memorial Day through the fall, creating a visible and lasting tribute to the men and women who have served.
These banners are more than a name on a pole. They represent a person, a story, a family, and a commitment to our country.
Who Can Be Honored?
The program is open to veterans who have a strong connection to our community.
For the Fryeburg Veteran Banner Program, a veteran is defined as any person who served in the active military, naval, or air service of the United States and was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.
Veterans and active-duty service members who served from World War II to the present day, including both wartime and peacetime service.
Eligible branches include the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, and Reserve components.
What Will Be Included on the Banner?
Each 24″ x 48″ banner will include:
• Veteran’s name
• Photograph
• Branch of service
• Years served
• Military campaign
The banners will be displayed throughout Fryeburg from Memorial Day through fall and are expected to remain in service for approximately 5 years.
2027 Banner Information & Application
Sponsorship Fee
$200 per banner
This fee helps cover the cost of producing and displaying the banner. A family member, friend, business, organization, or community member may sponsor a banner to honor a veteran.
You don’t have to sponsor a specific veteran to support this program. If you would like to help make Fryeburg Salutes possible, donations of any amount are welcome.
Every contribution helps support the cost of creating and displaying these banners and helps us continue honoring the veterans who are part of our community.
Application Deadline
March 1, 2027
Applications will be reviewed as they are received. All required information and materials must be submitted for an application to be considered complete.
What You’ll Need
Please have the following ready when submitting your application:
Photograph of the Veteran
A photo in uniform is preferred, if available.
Proof of Qualifying Military Service
Documentation showing honorable discharge or other qualifying service documentation.
$200 Sponsorship Fee
Payment should be made payable to the Town of Fryeburg. Please write “Fryeburg Salutes” in the memo line.

Fryeburg Salutes is a community effort made possible by people who have volunteered their time, ideas, and energy to bring this program to Fryeburg.
